Most people over the age of 40 need some additional assistance with reading. Medically speaking, the condition is known as presbyopia and it occurs when the eye lens loses its elasticity and flexibility.  The result is that your eyes don’t focus as well as they did and you find yourself fumbling with multiple pairs of glasses to read a menu in a restaurant.  Historically, the over-40s solved this problem by reaching for the cosmetically challenged bifocals. Progressive lenses have changed all that. I hear your sigh of fashion relief. Progressive lenses mean you can still wear your favourite frames without removing them as you shift from near or distance vision.  Thank goodness....
